Trump's Freedom 250 Showdown Crumbles as Vanilla Ice's Performance Axed Amid Disastrous Turnout
The Freedom 250 event faced a catastrophic collapse as Vanilla Ice's performance was abruptly canceled due to heavy rain, leaving the National Mall a ghost town.

Scheduled for June 26, Vanilla Ice, also known as Robert Matthew Van Winkle, was set to headline the 'I Love the 90s!' concert lineup. However, the event drew scathing criticism for its lack of attendees, exorbitant prices, and limited attractions.

Less than two hours before his 7 p.m. performance, organizers pulled the plug on the show as storms battered Washington, D.C., according to a festival employee.

Images from the event depicted a desolate scene: an empty National Mall, a lone Ferris wheel, and merchandise booths hawking $35 T-shirts and hats, while beers were priced at $12 each.

Vanilla Ice's participation in the Trump-backed event sparked backlash from fans, with several artists like Martina McBride and Young MC opting out of the lineup.

Before the cancellation, attendees faced long lines for the Ferris wheel, one of the few attractions available at the festival.

As rain began to pour around 5 p.m., officials decided to shut down the Great American State Fair, turning away visitors amid worsening weather conditions.

Despite the inclement weather, the sun briefly shone before Vanilla Ice was scheduled to take the stage.

The event featured $35 T-shirts and hats at a merchandise stand, but none of the items bore Trump's MAGA slogan.

Critics pointed out the sparse attendance at the main stage area, which remained largely empty throughout the event.

The Ferris wheel was also shut down due to safety concerns as only a handful of people waited to ride.

Rows of porta-loos stood abandoned as the Freedom 250 event faced an unforeseen cancellation.

Event organizers had warned attendees of an approaching severe thunderstorm with special weather statements displayed on billboards.

The merchandise booth included Freedom 250-branded hats priced at $35, alongside other patriotic-themed apparel.
