Trump's Iran Dilemma Exposed in Compelling CNN Supercut
CNN's "NewsNight" presented a striking supercut on Monday, showcasing the dissonance in statements from Donald Trump and his administration concerning military actions against Iran and the current state of U.S. involvement.
The segment commenced with Trump himself acknowledging the potential dangers, stating, “We may have casualties. That often happens in war.”
Next, the clip shifted to Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), who remarked that it might not be a “technical” war.
Following this, Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth asserted, “We didn’t start this war, but under President Trump, we are finishing it,” only for Senator Markwayne Mullin (R-Okla.) to counter, “This isn’t a war. We haven’t declared war.”
The montage circled back to Hegseth, who proclaimed that America defines “terms of this war, from start to finish,” adding, “War is hell and always will be.”
After the supercut concluded, anchor Abby Phillip remarked:
“But it does seem like we’re in a war,” she noted.
