Lara Trump Sparks Controversy with Bold Parenting Remarks
Lara Trump stirred the pot during her recent appearance on The Katie Miller Podcast, where she openly criticized gentle parenting, prompting a wave of mixed reactions from the audience.
At 43, Lara, married to Eric Trump and daughter-in-law of former President Donald Trump, is no stranger to public scrutiny. As a prominent figure in the Republican Party and host of The View with Lara Trump on Fox News, her opinions carry weight.

During her conversation with Katie Miller, who is married to White House Chief of Staff Stephen Miller, Lara was asked about her stance on gentle parenting. Her response was anything but gentle. “I hate gentle parenting. I am not a gentle parent at all. Total bulls--t. Not a fan,” she declared, adding a note of curiosity about the long-term effects of such parenting styles.
“Come back to me in 20 years and tell me how that kid turns out. I’m really worried for you,” she continued, sharing a personal anecdote about her son’s insistence on keeping the hallway lights on. “We’re turning the lights off,” she recounted, emphasizing her authority as a parent.

Her comments drew sharp criticism online. One user expressed concern for her child’s emotional well-being, stating, “The poor kid was probably scared of the dark. Instead of comforting him, like a normal nurturing mother, Lara said F--k ‘em! I need my alone time to drink my wine.”
Another critic added, “Two HORRIBLE human beings right there,” while a third lamented, “I feel sorry for both y’all children; y’all need to be spayed and neutered.”
However, not all responses were negative. Some viewers defended Lara’s approach, arguing that boundaries are essential for children’s safety and development. “Coddling is a big no imo, so is reasoning with a child. Boundaries = love,” one supporter commented.

Another chimed in with their own experience: “I was a very strict parent and I have a very respectful son. That is the biggest compliment that I get from everyone of how much of a gentleman he is. It pays off.”
