Trump's Math Blunder Sparks Outrage: 'Moron' Claims 400-500% Drug Price Cuts

May 12 2026

“Moron math is hilarious,” one user quipped on X (formerly Twitter), and the internet couldn't agree more.

President Donald Trump is under fire after he boldly claimed his administration is slashing drug prices by “400-500%.” Yes, you read that right—400 to 500 percent. The backlash was swift and brutal.

“We’re getting drug prices down by 400-500% or depending on how you want to phrase the question, you could say 4, 5, 600% us and you could also say 80%, 70%, etc. It all depends on how you phrase the question. I like the 500 better,” Trump declared during a Monday morning event aimed at promoting maternal health.

“Pharmacists laughing nationwide,” another user chimed in, highlighting the absurdity of Trump's arithmetic. This comes on the heels of a recent incident where Trump was caught on camera engaging in a shocking act with Melania at an inappropriate moment.

Trump has a history of miscalculating percentages when discussing prescription drug discounts. Just last month, Health Secretary Robert F. Kennedy Jr. attempted to defend Trump's baffling math, claiming the president “has a different way of calculating.”

“If you have a $600 drug, and you reduce it to $10, that’s a 600 percent reduction,” Kennedy explained during a congressional hearing, leaving many scratching their heads.

In January, Trump lashed out at the media for not echoing his claims or for pointing out their impossibility. “I got the biggest price reduction in history on drugs, pharmaceutical, and I can’t get these guys to talk about it,” he fumed.

As time went on, he began to assert that the discount depended “on how you want to calculate it.” “You could say it’s an 80 percent reduction,” he said. “Or you could say it’s a 1,000 percent reduction. You could say whatever you want.”

On Mother’s Day, the Trump administration launched Moms.gov, a website aimed at providing resources for expecting women and their families. The site promises to address the needs of mothers and fathers facing difficult pregnancies while ensuring family well-being.

“Moms.gov delivers critical tools and support to help parents foster healthy pregnancies, strengthen young families, and create brighter futures for their children,” Kennedy stated. “This is how you Make America Healthy Again.”

Meanwhile, Melania Trump recently broke royal protocol in a pink gown with a shocking detail, adding fuel to the fire of public scrutiny.
