Trump's Threat to Republicans Sparks Outrage: 'Scumbag' Label Emerges
Donald Trump unleashed a venomous threat against Republicans, igniting fury among conservatives.
On July 5, Trump’s post on Truth Social was reshared by Fox News, where he demanded the Republican Party back his SAVE America Act (Safeguard American Voter Eligibility Act). This controversial federal legislation mandates voters to present documentary proof of U.S. citizenship, such as a passport, to register and a photo ID to vote. Trump warned that Republicans would face dire consequences if they failed to comply.

He declared, "You won’t be in office for long!" This statement followed a viral image of Trump watching himself on Fox News, which drew significant backlash.
The 80-year-old president stated, "There is nothing Americans can’t do except get Voter ID Identification, Proof of Citizenship or, most importantly of all, TERMINATE THE FILIBUSTER, which the Democrats will do immediately upon gaining Office, and add two more States, four more Senators, eight more Congressmen, at least 20 Electoral Votes, and it will be impossible for a Republican to ever be elected President again. I don’t want to be the last Republican President!"
He further threatened, "GET SMART REPUBLICANS, IF YOU DON’T, YOU WON’T BE IN OFFICE FOR LONG!"

Online reactions were swift and scathing. Viewers condemned Trump's threats, accusing him of bullying his own party members.
One critic slammed him as a "f--king disingenuous and corrupt scumbag! Manipulating and lying to lower information people about the truth about what this bill would do to legally registered voters!"

Another pointed out that Republicans would not lose the midterms due to voter fraud but because "our job market is tanking, gas prices have been too high for 4 months, and inflation continues to exceed wage increases. SAVE Act ain’t gonna fix none of that."
A third commenter remarked, "Sounds like you’re throwing your own party under the bus, Mr. President."
Despite the backlash, Trump found some support. One follower encouraged him, stating, "Keep pushing, President Trump! I don’t understand how Senate Republicans can be against something as important as protecting voting integrity."

On June 29, Trump dismissed a bipartisan housing affordability bill as a "big yawn" while promoting his Save America Act during a press conference.
A reporter questioned him about the 21st Century Road to Housing Act, which passed in the House with bipartisan support and received Senate approval.
Trump responded, "It hasn’t been sent to me yet. It’s coming, I understand, and then I’ll make the determination." He added, "Here’s what I would like to say, much more than a bill that’s... Big deal. It’s a yawn. Some people say it’s wonderful. To me, compared to the SAVE America Act, just about everything is a big yawn."
