TRUMP UNLEASHES NAVAL MIGHT: 20 WARSHIPS AND TWO CARRIERS HEAD FOR IRAN
The US military is deploying a formidable fleet of over 20 warships, including two aircraft carriers, toward Iran as President Trump threatens to reinstate a naval blockade that previously devastated the Iranian economy.
Maritime trackers confirmed the USS Abraham Lincoln and USS George H.W. Bush have entered the Gulf of Oman, a strategic move deemed essential for re-establishing the blockade that crippled Iranian trade.
US Central Command announced on X that “more than 20 US Navy warships are patrolling waters across the Middle East,” emphasizing their commitment to regional security and stability.
When questioned about the potential blockade, CENTCOM refused to provide any “operational updates,” leaving the situation shrouded in uncertainty.

The aircraft carriers now operate within range of Iranian missiles, significantly increasing their risk profile, according to tracking data.
Retired Rear Adm. Mark Montgomery, a senior fellow at the Foundation for Defending Democracies, stated, “Forces move in and out, but generally as we get ships ready for blockade and support for strait transits, ships will get closer to Iranian threat.”
In parallel, a Qatari delegation wrapped up discussions in Iran aimed at de-escalating tensions and averting further military conflict between the US and Tehran, according to an informed source.
The source revealed, “Qatari mediators have departed Iran after traveling there in coordination with the US, in an effort to de-escalate the situation.”
Iranian officials are set to travel to Oman for talks regarding the Strait of Hormuz, focusing on shipping lanes that traverse their territorial waters.
President Trump has signaled openness to further discussions with Iran, although no formal negotiations have been scheduled.
This escalation follows Trump’s recent decision to terminate the US-Iran cease-fire, declaring the memorandum of understanding “over” after Tehran’s attacks on three ships in the Strait of Hormuz earlier this week.
The US responded by revoking Iran's waiver to sell oil and launching two days of military strikes on coastal targets in retaliation.
