Tucker Carlson Slams Trump’s Profane Easter Threat to Iran
On Easter Sunday, President Donald Trump unleashed a barrage of expletives directed at Iran, prompting sharp criticism from conservative commentator Tucker Carlson. “Who do you think you are?” Carlson questioned during his show, addressing the president's choice of language.
Trump's warning on Truth Social came as he set a deadline for Tehran to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, a vital shipping route whose closure has led to soaring global oil prices. He threatened military action against Iran, stating, “Open the F***in’ Strait, you crazy b*****ds, or you’ll be living in Hell – JUST WATCH! Praise be to Allah.”
During his Monday broadcast, Carlson, who has consistently opposed military intervention in Iran, expressed his disapproval of Trump's rhetoric. “You’re tweeting out the f-word on Easter morning?” he remarked, highlighting the insensitivity of mocking another culture's religion.
“If you seek a religious war, that’s a good idea,” Carlson continued. “But no decent person mocks other people’s religions. You may have a problem with the theology. Presumably, you do if it’s not your religion, and you can explain what that is.”
He emphasized the importance of respecting faith, stating, “To mock other people’s faith is to mock the idea of faith itself. We can destroy life. We cannot create it because we are not God.”

Carlson further elaborated on the implications of Trump's message, asserting that it transcended mere mockery of Islam. “No president should mock Islam. This is not a theocracy,” he stated. “We don’t go to war with other theocracies to find out which theocracy is more effective.”
In a controversial twist, Carlson suggested that the ongoing conflict could represent “a very stealthy, yet incredibly effective attack on what, from a Christian perspective, is the true faith, belief in Jesus,” a sentiment that drew sharp rebuke from conservative pundit Meghan McCain, who labeled it “psychoville.”
Historically allies, Trump and Carlson appear to have diverged in their views following last summer’s Operation Midnight Hammer strikes on Iran’s nuclear facilities. Carlson openly criticized these actions, leading to tensions with Republican figures like Texas Senator Ted Cruz.
Trump has since remarked that Carlson has “lost his way,” while Carlson has condemned the current war as “absolutely disgusting and evil.”
Among those on the right voicing disapproval of Trump’s post was former Republican congresswoman Marjorie Taylor Greene. She took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her concerns: “On Easter morning, this is what President Trump posted. Everyone in his administration that claims to be a Christian needs to fall on their knees and beg forgiveness from God and stop worshipping the president and intervene in Trump’s madness.”

Greene added, “I know all of you and him and he has gone insane, and all of you are complicit.”
House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries also weighed in on X Sunday afternoon, stating: “Disgusting and unhinged Easter message from Donald Trump. Something is really wrong with this guy.”
