Actor and model Bijou Phillips is facing a life-threatening health crisis, urgently requiring a kidney transplant. “I’m hanging on by a thread,” she disclosed, emphasizing the gravity of her condition.

In an interview, Phillips expressed her precarious situation: “I could make it on dialysis for a couple years, or I could get an infection in my line tomorrow and be gone in a few days.” Her words reflect a deep sense of urgency as she navigates this challenging chapter in her life.

Known for her roles in “Almost Famous” and “Raising Hope,” the 45-year-old actress has been on the transplant waiting list for over a year. Born into a prominent family, she is the daughter of John Phillips, the late leader of The Mamas and The Papas, and sister to Mackenzie Phillips and Chynna Phillips of Wilson Phillips fame.

Phillips has battled kidney issues since birth, having undergone her first transplant nearly a decade ago. However, complications arose, including antibody rejection, prompting her recent plea for a new kidney.

In a heartfelt Instagram post from February 11, she detailed her struggles and the pressing need for medical intervention. Her personal life has also been tumultuous; she divorced Danny Masterson, who is currently incarcerated.

Support from her boyfriend, Jamie Mazur, has been invaluable during this ordeal. “He gets me to fight where I wouldn’t probably have fought,” she shared in an Instagram video, highlighting the importance of his encouragement.

Reflecting on motherhood, Phillips recalled moments with her daughter, Fianna, who at age three would play with dolls and pretend one was going to dialysis. Now 12, Fianna remains a central focus in Phillips’ life. “I’m all she’s got,” she stated, underscoring the emotional weight of her health battle.
