Who is Brittany Watts? The Private Partner of Controversial California Representative Eric Swalwell
California Representative Eric Swalwell faces serious allegations of sexual misconduct and assault, yet his wife, Brittany Watts, remains largely out of the public eye. Married for nine years, Watts has chosen to keep her life away from the spotlight, contrasting with Swalwell's two-decade-long political career.

Swalwell's previous marriage ended in divorce before he met Watts in 2015 through mutual friends, as noted in a marriage announcement published in the New York Times. Their relationship blossomed quickly, culminating in a wedding ceremony in Oakland in October 2016, officiated by Nancy E. O’Malley, then the Alameda County district attorney.
The couple is raising three children—Nelson, Cricket, and Hank—in the picturesque wine region of Livermore, California. While Swalwell navigates the turbulent waters of politics, Watts has carved out her own successful career.
A graduate of Miami University in Ohio, Watts boasts over a decade of experience in the hospitality sector. Previously, she held the position of director of sales at the Ritz-Carlton in Half Moon Bay and also worked as the director of corporate and leisure travel sales for Loews Chicago Hotel, according to employment records.

Currently, she operates her own small business within the hospitality industry, as detailed in her husband's government biography. Amid the unfolding scandal surrounding Swalwell, it appears that Watts has removed her social media presence; however, she frequently appears on Swalwell's accounts during family celebrations.
Earlier this year, Swalwell praised his wife on Instagram, calling her the “Mom and wife who does it all,” highlighting her grace and beauty to his nearly half-a-million followers. In a recent video shared on March 29, the couple strolled hand-in-hand along a California beach discussing Swalwell's gubernatorial ambitions. He referred to Watts as his “wife and best friend,” emphasizing her support.

In that same video, Watts expressed admiration for Swalwell, describing him as a “really great dad” and “really great husband,” assuring viewers that she and their children can rely on him for anything. Despite the ongoing allegations against Swalwell, Watts has not publicly addressed the situation.

Swalwell, a prominent figure in the Democratic party's California governor race, released a passionate video statement denying the allegations against him. He acknowledged past mistakes and offered an apology to Watts for placing her in a difficult position. “Those mistakes are between me and my wife,” he stated, expressing deep remorse.
