A 35-year-old woman was apprehended for attempted murder after allegedly discharging a firearm at Rihanna’s Beverly Hills residence on Sunday, as confirmed by the Los Angeles Police Department.
Identified as Ivanna Ortiz, she was taken into custody shortly after the incident, according to local reports. The LAPD recovered a weapon from the scene but did not disclose the number of shots fired or the specific type of firearm used. However, sources indicate that an AR-15-style weapon was involved, and notably, Rihanna was present during the shooting, though no injuries were reported.
Ortiz was booked on Monday and is currently being held on a staggering $10.2 million bail, as per jail records.
The LAPD has stated that the investigation is ongoing. A police radio dispatch revealed that ten shots were fired from a vehicle parked across the street from Rihanna’s home, with at least four rounds striking the property. Bullet holes were discovered in the gate of the singer's residence.
Following the shooting, the vehicle fled the area, but Ortiz was arrested approximately 30 minutes after the 911 call was made. “When officers pulled over the suspect and took her into custody, they searched the vehicle and found an assault rifle along with seven shell casings,” an LAPD spokesperson reported.
Rihanna reportedly resides at the property with her partner A$AP Rocky, and together they have two sons and one daughter.
