29-Year-Old Influencer Who 'Married Herself' Dies After Declaring 'I Never Had Sex'

Wang Bingbing's life ended too soon, a mere 29 years into a journey marked by resilience and heartbreak.

This cancer influencer, who famously "married herself" to fulfill her lifelong dream of being a bride, succumbed to her battle with cervical cancer early Saturday morning (May 9).

Her health struggles began in 2022 with irregular menstruation and abnormal bleeding, which she attributed to the stress of her demanding lifestyle. Self-medicating with traditional Chinese remedies, she was unaware of the storm brewing within her.

In 2023, at just 27, her world shattered with a diagnosis of intermediate-to-advanced cervical cancer. She took to social media, sharing her harrowing journey with followers who rallied around her. A complete hysterectomy in November 2023 was followed by chemotherapy, but the relentless disease returned in June 2025, as reported by NeedToKnow.

As the cancer spread, Bingbing's appearance changed drastically. Facing the end of her life, she staged a "wedding for one," capturing the moment with a radiant smile. "Marrying myself still counts as getting married," she declared, defying convention in her final act of self-love.

Just a day before her passing, she left a haunting farewell message: "I'm leaving. I may not see you again. I can't bear to part."

By the time of her death, she had amassed over half a million followers who were inspired by her courage. Bingbing often pondered the irony of her situation: "I've never had a boyfriend, I've never had sex even once – why did I get cervical cancer?"

Cervical cancer is predominantly linked to high-risk HPV, typically transmitted through sexual contact. As a corporate trainer frequently on the road, she often used communal facilities, where medical experts suggested she may have contracted the virus.

In the wake of her death, her elder sister shared an emotional tribute online: "My sister was kind, pure-hearted, warm and sunny in nature. She treated others sincerely and always cared deeply for her close family."

She continued, "She faced life's everyday moments with optimism, leaving us with countless warm and beautiful memories. Her sudden departure has plunged the entire family into immense grief, and all relatives and friends are heartbroken and deeply saddened."
