Influencer Blows £39,000 on Three Surgeries After Turkey Nose Job Nightmare

Kim Hartnett, an Australian influencer, is sounding the alarm after a botched nose job in Turkey left her face in ruins and her wallet nearly £40,000 lighter. The 30-year-old salon owner’s pursuit of a flawless profile turned into a medical horror show, complete with a gruesome infection that sent her life spiraling.

This mother of two has endured three separate surgeries worldwide to repair the damage inflicted by her ill-fated quest for beauty. Kim, who operates a high-end hair extension brand, confessed that the relentless pressure of social media and television appearances fueled her obsession with perfection.

“I was always staring at myself, thinking, ‘What can I fix?’” she lamented. “Looking back, it’s heartbreaking because I realize now I was beautiful just as I was. There was nothing wrong with my nose.”

Despite having no real issues with her appearance, Kim booked a flight to Turkey for rhinoplasty after a friend suggested the trip. “A girlfriend mentioned she was going to Turkey for surgery and asked if I wanted to tag along. I thought, ‘If I don’t do it now, I probably never will.’ I treated it like a casual outing when it was actually major surgery,” she explained.

The initial trip set her back around £8,600, covering flights and accommodations. But within two weeks post-surgery, Kim’s dream transformation morphed into a nightmare. “The surgeon kept insisting it was just swelling and that I needed to wait a year. Deep down, I knew something was off,” she recalled.

The fallout from the first operation forced Kim into a second surgery. Initially pleased with the results, she soon faced a brutal infection that struck just one week later, causing her face to literally cave in. “My nose started collapsing, and scar tissue began contracting into my skin, creating large dents and deformities,” she said.

The trauma took a severe toll on her mental health, leading Kim to retreat from social media. “I stopped wanting to socialize and pretty much vanished from online platforms. I didn’t want to post pictures or be seen at all,” she admitted.

Eventually, she had to travel to Europe for a third, high-stakes reconstructive surgery costing an eye-watering £20,500. In total, her ordeal has drained her finances by roughly £39,000. Even after managing to secure some refunds, she remains £29,000 out of pocket.

Now, Kim is leveraging her platform—where her story has already garnered over 1,300 likes—to warn others against making the same mistake. “If I could go back and have my original nose, I absolutely would. I genuinely preferred my natural nose,” she stated. “After everything that happened and three major surgeries later, my nose was never going to be ‘perfect’ again.”

She added, “When it comes to tweaking minor things or chasing perfection, people need to take a step back and really consider whether they actually need it. Looking back now, there was absolutely nothing wrong with my nose.”
