Ariana Grande's Departure from AHS Sparks Brutal Fan Reactions

Jul 11 2026

Ariana Grande's exit from American Horror Story Season 13 has ignited a firestorm of fan reactions, with many expressing unfiltered opinions on her departure.

The pop star's absence comes as the show gears up for its premiere on FX, set for September 24, featuring returning favorites like Sarah Paulson and Emma Roberts.

Scheduling conflicts between the revised production dates for American Horror Story and her Eternal Sunshine Tour left Grande unable to film any scenes for the upcoming season.

This news follows her rescheduling of several July performances, leading fans to notice her missing from outdoor filming sessions.

While some fans voiced disappointment over her exit, others were vocally relieved, stating they preferred a cast of seasoned actors over music stars.

On Reddit, one user bluntly stated, "Good. Less music people, and more actors." Another chimed in with, "I am actually very happy! I don’t like those singers and what else appearing in TV series like that. Most of the time it really just spoils rather than enrich."

A third user added, "Good, she can’t act," while another exclaimed, "Thank god, we don’t need her in AHS!!!"

Conversely, some viewers expressed disappointment, having anticipated her involvement in the horror series. One lamented, "Well that sucks I was kinda looking forward to seeing her in the AHS mode."

Another fan echoed this sentiment, saying, "NOOO- I was so looking forward to Ariana, especially with the Ariana and Emma reunion; they were great together in Scream Queens. I hope she makes a surprise cameo at least."

Grande previously appeared in the first season of Fox's Scream Queens as Sonya Herfmann, where she left a mark with one of the show's most memorable comedic death scenes despite limited screen time.

Though primarily recognized as a singer, Grande has also received Best Supporting Actress nominations for her portrayal of Glinda in Wicked from prestigious awards like The Oscars, The BAFTAs, and The Golden Globes.

Her acting career began on stage in the Broadway musical 13 back in 2008, leading to roles in teen sitcoms such as Victorious and Sam & Cat.

New cast members joining the previously announced AHS Season 13 lineup include Paul Anthony Kelly, Berto Colón, and Joey Pollari.

FX's American Horror Story Season 13 premieres on September 24.
