Arkansas State Trooper Quits in Shame After Wife Exposes Racist Texts in Divorce

Jun 03 2026

An Arkansas state trooper's career crumbled when his wife exposed a barrage of repugnant, racist texts in their divorce proceedings. Michael Austin Kennedy, a father of two, resigned from the Arkansas State Police on May 15 after his wife unveiled his hate-filled messages.

Kennedy's wife, Alana, filed for divorce after 12 years of marriage, presenting evidence that included dozens of texts where he unleashed a torrent of slurs against anyone who isn't a white male. The messages are littered with the derogatory terms “n—-r” and “s—-c,” showcasing his deep-seated racism.

In her complaint, Alana sought sole custody of their children, fearing that Kennedy's “white supremacist” ideology would “poison the minds” of their kids. She claimed the children “currently fear” their father due to his relentless hate speech and irrational rants.

Alana accused Kennedy of exploiting his position as a state trooper, citing selfies he sent her posing with detained Hispanic individuals, boasting about his so-called “trophy.”

His messages reveal a disturbing mindset, advocating for the expulsion of Muslims from America and calling for the repeal of the 19th Amendment, which granted women the right to vote. He often launched into unhinged tirades about drivers he assumed were intoxicated illegal immigrants or spewed vitriol against women and black individuals.

Kennedy frequently belittled Alana for her compassion, mocking her for not harboring enough hatred towards immigrants. In one text, he wrote, “You don’t f—-king hate them enough. The s—t that clogged up [their son’s] toilet is worth more to me than any of them.”

When Alana warned him about traffic congestion on a local highway, Kennedy blamed a Hispanic man for the delay. “But if we had a nation and a border, you would’ve been on time,” he texted.

In another exchange, when Alana innocently asked him to bring their son a drink, Kennedy erupted, claiming he couldn’t because “n—-rs were n—-ring” in Little Rock. He raged about the dangers of the city, saying, “In N—-rland, you have to pull guns on people driving down the road. It’s what you do all day long, every day.”

Kennedy begrudgingly acknowledged his racist remarks in his own filing on May 21, arguing that the texts were “outdated” and predated his therapy and spiritual guidance at their church. The most recent messages dated back to January 2025.

Alana stipulated that any possibility of visitation for Kennedy hinges on him completing a “parenting course in order to limit the hatred and prejudice that he has towards people.”

Kennedy’s father, Lt. Col. Mike Kennedy, serves as the deputy director of the Arizona State Police.
