Schumer Claps Back at White House's 'Racist' Cinco de Mayo Mockery
On Cinco de Mayo, the political arena turned into a battleground as Senate Minority Leader Chuck Schumer took aim at the White House following a provocative post that ridiculed him and House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries. The White House shared a photo featuring the two Democrats donning sombreros at a U.S. border checkpoint, margaritas in hand, chips and salsa on the side, and a cactus looming in the background.
The image was accompanied by a sign reading, “I LOVE ILLEGAL IMMIGRANTS,” with the White House captioning it, “Happy Cinco de Mayo to all who celebrate!” This blatant mockery ignited a fierce response from Schumer.
In retaliation, Schumer posted an edited image of former President Donald Trump alongside convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, both adorned in sombreros. “Happy Cinco de Mayo, @WhiteHouse!” he quipped, sharing the jab with his followers. Jeffries didn’t miss a beat, reposting the image to his own account.

This isn’t the first time the White House has taken shots at Schumer and Jeffries. Back in October, a video surfaced showing Jeffries in a sombrero while Schumer made comments about “gullible Latinos.” Democrats slammed the administration for its increasingly erratic behavior as the nation faced a looming government shutdown.
“Instead of negotiating a bipartisan agreement in good faith, he is obsessively posting crazed deepfake videos,” they declared. The situation escalated when Trump shared another video depicting Barack and Michelle Obama as apes, further fueling outrage.
Jeffries didn’t hold back either, condemning the White House’s antics. “This disgusting video, posted by the so-called president, was done intentionally,” he stated. “F--- Donald Trump and his vile, racist, and malignant behavior.”

In a bizarre twist, one of Trump’s videos featured an AI-generated clip of Obama’s face superimposed onto a monkey’s body, set to the tune of “The Lion Sleeps Tonight.” This was just one of many posts from Trump during Black History Month, which also included his unfounded claims of election fraud.
Trump claimed ignorance regarding the offensive depictions. His social media presence has been flooded with random videos and memes for years. Last October, during a protest dubbed “No Kings,” he shared a video of himself in a crown dumping waste from a fighter jet onto demonstrators in New York City.
The political landscape continues to heat up as these exchanges reveal the deepening divide and provocative tactics employed by both sides. As tensions rise, it’s clear that no one is holding back in this high-stakes game of political chess.
