Atlantic Journalist Claims New Insights Flooded In Following Explosive Kash Patel Exposé

Since the release of her explosive report on FBI Director Kash Patel, Sarah Fitzpatrick from The Atlantic has reported an overwhelming influx of new sources. The article accused Patel of “excessive drinking and unexplained absences,” igniting significant discussion.

“One of the most rewarding aspects post-publication has been the flood of additional sources reaching out, some from the highest echelons of government, expressing gratitude for our work and providing corroborating details,” Fitzpatrick shared during her appearance on the “Radio Atlantic” podcast.

Fitzpatrick characterized Patel as “extremely, extremely vindictive,” suggesting that this reputation may deter others from voicing concerns about his conduct. “There’s a palpable fear across various levels—not just within the FBI or Justice Department, but also among White House staff—that he will retaliate against anyone who appears less than fully supportive of him or the president,” she explained.

The allegations against Patel arise amidst a wave of notable resignations from the Trump administration. Just this week, Labor Secretary Lori Chavez-Deremer resigned following a misconduct investigation, while former Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and former Attorney General Pam Bondi were also recently dismissed.

Fitzpatrick warned that speaking out against Patel could lead to severe personal consequences, stating, “You risk financial ruin and litigation that could devastate your family. We’ve witnessed him target individuals he views as threats.”

Currently, Fitzpatrick faces a $250 million lawsuit from Patel, who claims her report is filled with “false and obviously fabricated allegations aimed at tarnishing his reputation and forcing him out of office.”

The Atlantic's report detailed instances where Patel’s security detail struggled to rouse him due to apparent intoxication, leading to rescheduled meetings due to “alcohol-fueled nights.”

“It was common knowledge among FBI personnel, Justice Department officials, and White House staff that his security team faced challenges in reaching him behind closed doors,” Fitzpatrick told podcast host Hanna Rosin. “This situation raised significant alarms within the security community.”

In response to Patel's lawsuit, The Atlantic reaffirmed its commitment to the integrity of its reporting, labeling the legal action as “meritless.”

“I engaged with dozens of individuals: current and former FBI agents, Justice Department officials, White House insiders, intelligence community members, lawyers, lobbyists, and hospitality workers,” Fitzpatrick elaborated. “These sources provided a comprehensive perspective based on extensive observation over time.”
