Bill Clinton to Face House Oversight Committee Today Over Epstein Connection: Live Updates

Feb 27 2026

Bill Clinton is poised to testify today before the House Oversight Committee concerning his connections to Jeffrey Epstein, just a day after Hillary Clinton's own testimony before the same panel.

The former president will respond to lawmakers' inquiries under oath in a closed session in Chappaqua, New York. His relationship with Epstein has been scrutinized, especially after images of the two surfaced in the Epstein files. Despite this, Clinton has consistently denied any wrongdoing and has not faced formal charges related to Epstein.

Prior to his testimony, Clinton characterized the proceedings as “pure politics,” labeling the committee a “kangaroo court.”

Hillary Clinton, during her deposition on Thursday, claimed ignorance regarding Epstein’s criminal activities, suggesting that her involvement was being exploited to divert attention from President Donald Trump’s actions.

Republican members of the committee aggressively questioned her about her husband’s ties to Epstein, particularly allegations involving massages from young women. Reports indicate that discussions also veered into topics like UFOs and Pizzagate.

While some Republicans deemed the deposition fruitful, Democrats criticized it as mere political theatrics. After her testimony, Hillary Clinton faced further inquiries from the media about her family's connections to Epstein and Ghislaine Maxwell.

Although the deposition was private, Hillary shared her opening remarks on social media beforehand, which can be found in full below.

In her testimony, she reiterated her lack of knowledge about Epstein’s crimes and expressed frustration at being used as a distraction from Trump’s controversies.

Rep. Suhas Subramanyam, a Democrat from Virginia, condemned the committee's focus on Hillary Clinton, calling it a “clown show.” He emphasized that the investigation should target individuals like Les Wexner instead of diverting attention to political figures.

On the other hand, Republican Rep. Nancy Mace voiced her disappointment over the U.S. government's perceived inaction regarding justice for Epstein's victims. In an interview, she contrasted U.S. efforts with those of the U.K., where authorities recently arrested Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.

Mace expressed dismay that other nations are taking more decisive action than the U.S., questioning why such serious matters are being overlooked.

As Bill Clinton prepares for his testimony today, details continue to emerge. Following her deposition, Hillary was asked about Ghislaine Maxwell's presence at her daughter Chelsea's wedding in 2010. She explained that Maxwell attended as a guest of another invitee.

Rep. James Comer, chair of the House Oversight Committee, noted that Hillary displayed little concern regarding her husband's relationship with Epstein during her lengthy testimony. He recounted showing her a photo from the Epstein files depicting Bill Clinton in a hot tub with an unidentified woman, stating she seemed indifferent to its implications.

Meanwhile, Rep. Anna Paulina Luna asserted that Donald Trump has been cleared of any wrongdoing in relation to Epstein and is not considered a person of interest in the ongoing investigation.

Luna emphasized that Trump has cooperated fully with inquiries and that victims have not implicated him in any harm.
