Charles Barkley Drops Disturbing Comment About Cardi B's Body During NBA Finals Halftime

Jun 09 2026

“I don’t know if those B’s. They might be Cardi D’s,” Charles Barkley said, making a crude comment about Cardi B’s breasts during her halftime performance at the NBA Finals.

As the Grammy-winning rapper performed “Bodega Baddie” and “Bodak Yellow” with the Knicks City Dancers, Ernie Johnson, co-host of “Inside the NBA,” noted the Knicks were up seven points, competing with Cardi B for attention.

Barkley, 63, responded to Johnson’s comment with, “We lost,” while Cardi flaunted her curvy figure in a plunging croc-embossed bustier and leggings.

His co-hosts erupted in laughter as Barkley continued, “I’m pretty sure those aren’t B’s.”

Johnson, 69, quickly distanced himself from the remark, stating, “I don’t know who said that, but I know it wasn’t me.”

Barkley didn’t stop there, adding, “She’s got the wrong initials,” further objectifying Cardi B.

Online reactions to Barkley’s comments were mixed. One user on X criticized him for reducing a performer to her body, calling it sad and outdated.

Another user remarked, “Unc has lost all composure,” while a third tweeted, “Chuck just casually upgraded her to Cardi D’s mid broadcast. Man said the quiet part loud as hell. Legend.”

A fourth commenter noted, “Only Chuck can say something that wild and still be loved for it.”

Page Six reached out to representatives for both Cardi B and “Inside the NBA” for comments regarding the incident.

Cardi B attended Game 3 of the NBA Finals with her eldest son, Wave. After her performance, she shared amusing videos of her 4-year-old blocking her view while clutching blue cotton candy.

Game 4 of the NBA Finals between the San Antonio Spurs and the New York Knicks is scheduled for Wednesday, June 10, at Madison Square Garden.
