Dallas Arena Probes Fans Caught on Video Making Nazi Salute During Game

DALLAS — An investigation is underway at the American Airlines Center following the emergence of a video that allegedly captures four fans celebrating a goal with a Nazi salute.

A representative for the venue stated, “We have zero tolerance for any acts of hate and/or discrimination,” emphasizing the arena's commitment to maintaining a safe environment.

“The actions depicted in the video are strongly denounced, and we are conducting an internal investigation,” the spokesperson added. “All attendees must adhere to the AAC and, where applicable, NBA or NHL Codes of Conduct during events.”

In late December, a Stars supporter named Courtney Ripley recorded a 12-second clip during a game against Toronto. The footage shows four individuals raising their right arms in a manner reminiscent of a Nazi salute in response to a goal. This video has since gained significant attention across various social media platforms.

On Thursday, a Stars representative confirmed to ESPN that the team is “fully aligned with the arena’s statement and is collaborating to ascertain the details surrounding the incident.”

Throughout the NHL, fan codes of conduct are prominently displayed. Each team shares a scripted message on their video boards or through public address systems, informing fans about expected behavior.

The NHL’s multipoint fan code of conduct begins with a clear message: “The best hockey experiences happen in environments that are inclusive, safe and respectful.”

Consequences for violating this code can include ejection from the venue, suspension, or even a lifetime ban from future events.
