JD Vance Responds to Joe Rogan's Remarks Calling MAGA Supporters 'Unintelligent' and 'Dorks'

Vice President JD Vance took a stand against Joe Rogan after the podcaster labeled the Make America Great Again movement as populated by “uninteresting, unintelligent people” and “dorks.” Rogan's remarks came during a recent episode of “The Joe Rogan Experience,” where he controversially claimed that Barack Obama and Hillary Clinton had a tougher stance on immigration than President Trump.

During the Thursday episode, Rogan criticized the MAGA base, suggesting it has devolved into chaos, merging radical extremists with “real, genuine patriots.” His comments sparked immediate backlash from Vance.

“That phrase sucks… make America great again and then it becomes a movement of a bunch of f–ing dorks because a lot of them are dorks,” Rogan stated while conversing with comedian Dave Smith.

He continued, “A lot of them are these really weird f—ing uninteresting, unintelligent people that have got something they cling to, and there’s a lot of people that are just real genuine patriots and they’re all lumped into this one group. And you got to accept the dorks, too? F–k that!”

Despite Rogan's harsh words, Vance appeared unfazed during an interview with right-wing podcaster Benny Johnson. He laughed off the comments, asserting, “I think we have many fewer dorks than the far left, but everybody’s got some dorks.”

Vance added, “We love our dorks. We love our cool kids. We love anybody who wants to save the country.” His lighthearted response contrasted sharply with Rogan's critical tone.

Johnson pressed Vance on another contentious point made by Rogan in a separate episode, where he claimed that Obama and Clinton had a more hardline approach to immigration than Trump. Citing remarks from 2007, Rogan suggested that Clinton once advocated for a “hardcore right-wing 2026 perspective” on illegal immigration.

Vance firmly disagreed with Rogan’s assertion, indicating he would reach out to him directly. “I did not see Joe say this. I’m going to text Joe because that is definitely wrong,” he stated.

He emphasized, “The numbers from the Obama administration or any other administration – they weren’t doing a tenth of what we’re doing. So Joe is wrong on this. We’ve been the best administration in American history at deporting illegal aliens. The problem is we also followed the worst administration at letting them in.”
