Elon Musk's Race-Related Posts Surge to Over 850 in Recent Months

Apr 24 2026

In a striking trend, Elon Musk has ramped up his discourse on race, posting more than 850 times in the last six months on his X platform, with a notable focus on contentious claims like “white genocide,” according to a recent analysis.

The billionaire entrepreneur, known for his leadership roles at Tesla, SpaceX, and X, has shared these posts at an astonishing rate of approximately 182 days, with six percent dedicated to race-related topics. Half of these posts prominently feature the term “white,” indicating a clear thematic focus.

On December 11, 2025, Musk stated, “They’re openly advocating White genocide,” alongside a video compilation addressing U.S. migration. Earlier, on April 14, 2026, he remarked, “They are calling for the genocide of Whites,” while sharing footage of protests in South Africa.

As the world’s wealthiest individual, Musk frequently amplifies right-wing narratives concerning white rights, further complicating his public persona. His engagement with race discussions is not new; however, the frequency of such posts has tripled in the past six months compared to the previous two years, averaging nearly one post per day from October to mid-April.

Last September, he endorsed a post suggesting that white individuals face a choice between oppression or reclaiming their dignity while being labeled “racist.” His simple affirmation of “Yes” to this incendiary comment drew both support and criticism.

Some followers expressed frustration over his content. One user remarked, “You would have been banned for tweeting stuff like this and now the owner of this platform is reposting White Nationalist content.”

Musk's controversial actions extend beyond social media. Prior to Trump’s inauguration in January 2025, he faced backlash for a salute perceived by some as fascist—a claim he has consistently denied. A follower referenced this incident in response to his September post, stating: “Ah so it was a hitler salute after all.”

His recent posts appear to alienate some former supporters. A Tesla fan account recently shifted allegiance to a competitor, commenting, “Rivian: focused on autonomy and their next vehicle Elon: focused on the percentage of white people in New Zealand.”

Despite this backlash, Musk remains undeterred. On April 20, he claimed, “Australians are becoming an endangered species,” in relation to Australian birth rates.

Experts like Heidi Beirich, co-founder of the Global Project Against Hate and Extremism, have noted that Musk’s theories align with common white supremacist talking points. These include his assertions regarding a supposed “genocide” against white individuals and biases against hiring them.

Shay Boloor, chief market strategist at Futurum, commented on the implications of Musk’s rhetoric: “I think there’s always been an Elon tax to own an Elon business. I think that the spectrum of that Elon tax is widening.” Yet he acknowledged that the financial success of Musk’s ventures often outweighs public discontent.

In November, Tesla shareholders approved a compensation package for Musk potentially worth $1 trillion, aimed at redirecting his focus back to corporate matters. However, recent data indicates that his attention remains fixated on race-related discussions.

As SpaceX prepares for its initial public offering later this year—an event that could position Musk as the world’s first trillionaire—critics like former Tesla investor Fred Lambert have voiced concerns about prioritizing profit over principles. “The entire situation baffles me ... there’s no doubt he is a White nationalist based on his recent statements about White people ‘reclaiming their nations,’” he stated.
