Former Coronation Street Star Helen Flanagan Grapples with Job Drought and Personal Turmoil

Helen Flanagan, the former Coronation Street actress, is feeling the sting of joblessness and personal upheaval, admitting she’s “frustrated” with the lack of opportunities.

The 35-year-old, known for her role as Rosie Webster from 2011 to 2018, expressed her deflation in a candid Instagram video. She’s not just battling career stagnation; her personal life is in disarray after moving out of her Lancashire family home following a split from ex-partner Scott Sinclair in 2022.

The property, recently sold for just under £1 million, adds another layer to her struggles as she co-parents their three children: Matilda, aged 10, Delilah, aged seven, and Charlie, aged four.

In her video, Helen revealed, “I really have been kind of quiet on my social.” She’s grappling with uncertainty about her future. “I’ve just kind of felt like not sure… I’ve not really been sure of myself recently,” she said.

As she approaches her 36th birthday in August, she’s feeling the pressure. “I really want to act and basically I just want a job at the moment and I feel frustrated in that way,” she added.

Creativity has taken a hit. Posting on social media has become a source of anxiety for her. “I have worked on social media, and it’s been my job... I genuinely really loved it,” she stated, reminiscing about the joy of self-expression and collaboration with other women.

However, the whirlwind of change has left her feeling “weird.” She’s contemplating whether to relocate her family, caught in indecision. “I’m in two minds about moving to London,” she confessed. “I was going to buy here then I decided not to buy here so everything’s just been a bit, like, all over the place.”

Her co-parenting situation with Sinclair has also been challenging. Reflecting on their time together over Easter, she remarked, “I definitely don’t think it gets easier sharing your children, it really doesn’t.”

“There’s so many of us that are in these situations and it can be really tricky,” she concluded.
