Ruby Rose Issues Final Statement on Katy Perry Sexual Assault Allegations Following Police Involvement

Apr 14 2026

Actor Ruby Rose has stirred significant conversation by alleging that Katy Perry assaulted her over a decade ago, a claim that Perry has firmly denied. Following her recent engagement with law enforcement, Rose has shared what she describes as a “last update” on the matter.

On April 12, in a series of posts on Threads, Rose detailed an incident at a Melbourne nightclub, stating: “She saw me ‘resting’ on my best friend’s lap to avoid her and bent down, pulled her underwear to the side and rubbed her disgusting vagina on my face until my eyes snapped open and I projectile vomited on her.” This shocking revelation has drawn both support and skepticism from the public.

Rose later confirmed that she had approached the police regarding several historical sexual assault cases. In a now-deleted message, she indicated the need to consult a specialized department due to Perry's prominence. As of April 14, Rose announced that she had “finalized” her reports with the police, implying that this includes her allegations against Perry. However, authorities have advised her against discussing these cases publicly.

“Last update on this: As of this afternoon, I have finalized all of my reports. This means I am no longer able to comment, repost, or talk publicly about any of those cases, or the individuals involved,” she wrote.

Rose expressed that while it may seem like she is ignoring supportive messages and other experiences shared by individuals, this is not the case. “It’s going to look like I am ignoring everything from supportive messages to other people’s experiences, but I’m not. This is a standard request from the police and in many ways, quite the relief. I can start the healing process now. And temporarily move forward. I love you all so much,” she added.

In light of these allegations, Katy Perry has labeled Rose's claims as “dangerous reckless lies.” A representative for Perry issued a statement denying the accusations and referencing Rose's history of making serious allegations against various individuals.

“The allegations being circulated on social media by Ruby Rose about Katy Perry are not only categorically false; they are dangerous reckless lies,” the statement read. “Ms. Rose has a well-documented history of making serious public allegations on social media against various individuals, claims that have repeatedly been denied by those named.”

This controversy has reignited discussions surrounding past claims against Perry, including an incident involving Anna Kendrick that resurfaced following Rose's allegations. Kendrick's story of being groped by Perry has added another layer to the ongoing discourse.

In 2021, Ruby Rose made headlines when she claimed she left The CW’s Batwoman due to being pressured to return to work shortly after back surgery. Warner Bros responded at the time, stating they chose not to engage Rose for the second season based on multiple complaints regarding her workplace behavior.
