Game Of Thrones Star Escapes Harvey Weinstein's Clutches Thanks to a Locked Door
Lena Headey dodged a potential assault by Harvey Weinstein, who infamously suggested she get Botox.
The actress, known for her role as Cersei Lannister, recounted a chilling experience with the convicted sex offender currently imprisoned at Rikers Island. The first encounter occurred while promoting the 2005 film, The Brothers Grimm, in Venice.
Headey described a walk with Weinstein where he attempted to kiss her. She was young and intoxicated but still managed to push him away, thinking, ‘You’re 52’. She told him to leave her alone.
The next day, he sent her flowers with an apology. Six months later, they met again for breakfast. Weinstein invited her to a screening, promising scripts and suggesting she come to his room.
As they entered the elevator, Headey felt an instinctive dread. She confronted him, stating, ‘I think you’re thinking I want more than friendship, and I have no interest in that.’

Weinstein forcibly led her to his room, but his key card failed repeatedly. After several attempts and growing frustration, he took her back downstairs, warning her, ‘Never say anything to anybody.’
Afterward, she broke down in tears in her car. Following that incident, he never offered her a role in any of his films again.

Weinstein also advised Headey to undergo Botox treatments for her forehead when she was in her twenties and suggested she straighten her teeth.
In her new Radio 4 series titled Intimacy, Headey addresses the “toxic cycle” of Hollywood. She highlights the male-dominated environment: “The majority of people in the room are men. A lot of men who don’t love women end up in our industry. They now have power and now is the time to put us in our place. It’s the patriarchy, isn’t it?”
“He sent me flowers the next day, and said ‘I’m really sorry’.”
