Health Guru Executed in Cold-Blooded Bay Area Heist

A registered nurse, known online as “Nurse Solomon,” was brutally murdered during an alleged robbery attempt in downtown Oakland, shocking his thousands of followers and leaving a young family behind.

Lartey Solomon, aged 33, was shot dead on May 31 while approaching his vehicle at the intersection of 14th and Harrison streets, according to law enforcement.

Shacory Carnell Daniels, a 39-year-old from Vallejo, faces murder charges for the fatal shooting, according to prosecutors.

Daniels is also charged with attempted robbery, intentionally discharging a firearm, and being a convicted felon in possession of a firearm and ammunition.

Oakland police responded to gunfire reports shortly after 2:45 a.m. in the 1400 block of Harrison Street. Upon arrival, they discovered a man suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.

Solomon was transported to a hospital but succumbed to his injuries shortly after arrival.

The murder gained attention beyond the Bay Area due to Solomon’s established presence as a health educator on social media.

He shared medical insights with over 20,000 followers on TikTok, building a reputation as a trusted source of health information.

An online fundraiser organized by his brother, Emmanuel Solomon, revealed that the nurse was born and raised in Ghana before moving to the United States.

He attended Merritt College and earned a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Samuel Merritt University.

According to the fundraiser, Solomon worked as a registered nurse at Alameda Health Care and Kindred Hospital in San Leandro.

“Caring for others was more than a profession; it was his calling,” the family stated. “He was passionate about educating people on their health and empowering them to make informed decisions.”

Relatives reported that Solomon and a friend were leaving a nightclub when approached by a man demanding the chain Solomon wore around his neck.

Solomon’s friend recounted hearing gunshots as he walked toward his own vehicle.

Daniels was apprehended on June 4 in Menlo Park, according to prosecutors. He appeared for arraignment at Wiley Manuel Courthouse in Oakland and remains in custody without bail.

Court records indicate Daniels has prior felony convictions across Alameda, Contra Costa, and Orange counties.

His next court appearance is set for June 30, where he is expected to enter a plea.
