Trump Celebrates Himself with AI Nonsense While Ignoring D-Day Heroes

Jun 07 2026

Trump's social media meltdown on Saturday featured a bizarre array of AI-generated nonsense while completely ignoring the 82nd anniversary of D-Day.

The 79-year-old President unleashed a series of strange posts on Truth Social, including a tacky AI video showcasing himself being adored by fake fans and inexplicably riding a lion. True to form, he couldn't resist taking jabs at Obama, posting an AI-generated image of the future Barack Obama Presidential Library depicted as a massive garbage can.

June 6 marks the anniversary of the largest seaborne invasion in history, where 156,000 Allied troops stormed the beaches of Normandy. Over 4,000 Allied soldiers died during this pivotal operation against Nazi Germany. Yet, Trump chose to obsess over meaningless AI content instead of honoring the day.

His neglect did not go unnoticed. Republicans Against Trump blasted him on X, stating, “It’s D-Day. Trump’s first post on Truth Social is a bizarre AI video about how much people love Donald Trump. Not a word about the heroes who stormed the beaches of Normandy.”

Another account for American Veterans chimed in, saying, “It certainly tells you what he thinks of our veterans and their sacrifices. He has always ignored our heroes because it is always about him.”

While Trump failed to acknowledge D-Day, the White House did release a statement commemorating the anniversary. Other world leaders took the opportunity to pay their respects.

Ukraine’s Volodymyr Zelensky posted on X, “Today is the 82nd anniversary of D-Day – the Allied landings in Normandy, which significantly hastened the countdown to the Nazis' collapse in World War II.”

The U.K.’s Prime Minister, Keir Starmer, also remembered the operation, stating, “We must never forget the service and sacrifice of those courageous men and women. Our debt to them can never be repaid.”

In France, a D-Day commemoration event was underway where Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth bizarrely criticized European allies over immigration while addressing a crowd.

Despite this year's oversight, Trump has previously marked D-Day publicly. Last year, he shared an image to commemorate the occasion, and in 2024, he posted a video featuring four veterans from the Normandy landings.

Meanwhile, Trump's "painful and disabling" chronic disease was explained by a doctor following his three-hour hospital visit.
