Footage from Hillary Clinton’s deposition regarding Jeffrey Epstein reveals a tense moment when the former Secretary of State abruptly left the private hearing due to a leaked photograph.
Clinton, 78, testified for six hours in Chappaqua, New York, asserting her ignorance of Epstein's criminal activities. She maintained that her interactions with Epstein were minimal and denied ever visiting his properties.
During her testimony, a post by MAGA influencer Benny Johnson surfaced on X, showcasing Clinton with the caption: “The first image of Hillary Clinton testifying under oath about Jeffrey Epstein to the Republican Oversight Committee.”
Johnson remarked, “This is the first time Hillary has had to answer real questions about Epstein. Clinton does not look happy.”
He attributed the photo to Rep. Lauren Boebert, a Colorado Republican present at the hearing.
Upon learning of the post, the hearing was temporarily paused. Clinton's advisor, Nick Merrill, stated that the break was necessary to investigate the photo's origin and potential violations of House rules by congressional members.
Boebert defended Johnson’s actions on X, asserting, “Benny did nothing wrong. Proceeding with deposition.”
As the footage and transcript reveal, Clinton expressed her frustration, declaring to the Republicans: “I’m done with this.”
“If you guys are doing that, I am done. You can hold me in contempt from now until the cows come home. This is just typical behavior. Oh, for heaven’s sake… We all are abiding by the same rules!” she added.
A visibly chastened Boebert responded, “I will take that down.”
Clinton retorted, “Yeah, well… I’m done, for now,” before standing and exiting the room.
Despite her initial departure, Clinton returned to complete her testimony. Following the session, California Democratic Rep. Robert Garcia labeled the incident “unacceptable,” accusing Republicans of violating previously agreed-upon committee rules and commending Clinton for her willingness to continue.
When questioned by reporters about the leaked photo, Boebert claimed she did not “recall” sending it, even though Johnson had credited her as its source.
After Johnson shared footage of Clinton's reaction to the leak on Monday evening, Boebert later acknowledged her role in another post: “Anyone else notice that Hillary was 100x more angry with me taking a photo of her than she was with Bill Clinton taking rides on Jeffrey Epstein’s orgy planes?”
The former president has not faced allegations related to Epstein but similarly provided a six-hour deposition to the committee on Friday.
In another part of her deposition, Clinton clashed with South Carolina Republican Rep. Nancy Mace, accusing conservative lawmakers of not taking their inquiry seriously and suggesting they call President Donald Trump to testify. Trump has not been formally accused of any wrongdoing concerning Epstein but has faced scrutiny over their past relationship.
“If you are new to this issue, let me tell you: Jeffrey Epstein was a heinous individual, but he’s far from alone,” Clinton stated in her opening remarks to the committee.
“This is not a one-off tabloid sensation or a political scandal. It’s a global scourge with an unimaginable human toll.”
