Influencer Found Dead After 'Cult' Boarding School Trauma and Plastic Surgery Nightmare
Hilde Lynn Helphenstein, known as Jerry Gogosian, was discovered dead in a luxury hotel room, surrounded by pills and alcohol after undergoing plastic surgery.
Details from a 2024 Substack post reveal the influencer's harrowing experiences at Mountain Park Baptist Boarding Academy in Missouri, where she faced severe trauma during her teenage years.

Hilde described her time at the boarding school as “hellish,” alleging she was subjected to humiliating rituals, including being forced to eat her own vomit. “It was a cult,” the 40-year-old artist stated in her autobiography titled Hilde’s Story.
She recounted being publicly shamed and singled out for abuse, stating, “The treatment I endured involved being forced to eat my own vomit in front of hundreds of people throwing food at me.”

Sent to the facility at a young age, Hilde did not fit the profile of many other students. Friends noted she was just a normal 12-year-old dealing with her parents' divorce.
Meaghan Richter, a fellow survivor, recalled the fear on Hilde’s face when she was made an “example” in the dining hall, with peers instructed to jeer at her. “The staff would just torture her,” Meaghan said.
Hilde’s family background was lower-middle class, and she struggled to readjust after living abroad in Russia for a year due to her father's job.

Meaghan claimed that upon arriving at the school, Hilde had difficulty keeping food down but was not taken to a doctor. Instead, she faced terrorization from staff.
After vomiting, Hilde was allegedly manhandled and dragged across the floor. When the vomiting ceased, staff accused her of faking it. “When finally it just stopped, they’re like, ‘See, you’re faking,’” Meaghan recounted.

Hilde wrote about being placed “on silence,” meaning she could not speak to anyone and was monitored during calls home, preventing her from asking for help.
“In truth, a part of me did break there that I am afraid will never be healed, but I have learned to channel the pain and redirect it,” she expressed in her writing.
Hilde had been in São Paulo for approximately three weeks recovering from cosmetic surgery before her tragic death.
