Influencer Goes AWOL After Deadly SUV Crash Claims Personal Trainer
Rosa Iberê Tavares Dantas is reportedly on the lam after being sentenced to three years in prison for a horrific incident that left a personal trainer dead. The influencer was behind the wheel of her SUV when she made a reckless turn, slamming into Talis Roque da Silva, who was riding his motorbike.
The shocking moment was caught on camera, showing Talis, 31, being violently thrown from his bike, crashing into a metal pole before hitting the pavement. Despite being rushed to the hospital and briefly resuscitated, he tragically succumbed to cardiac arrest shortly after.
In a bizarre twist, Dantas, now 25, took to social media claiming, "I provided all necessary assistance at the moment it happened," despite footage suggesting otherwise. The collision unfolded in Manaus, Brazil, on August 31, 2023, and Dantas was sentenced on May 4 after being convicted of negligent homicide.
Judge Áldrin Henrique de Castro Rodrigues of the 10th Criminal Court mandated that she serve her sentence under a semi-open regime, allowing her to work or study during the day but requiring her to return to a supervised facility at night. Along with her prison time, she was slapped with a hefty fine and banned from driving for 18 months.
However, Dantas fled Brazil for Madrid while the legal proceedings were still underway, now classified as a fugitive. Her name has been added to Brazil's National Register of Arrest Warrants, and Interpol has been notified. Before the crash, she flaunted her life as an influencer, promoting her tobacco shop and swimwear line to over 50,000 followers.
Her social media was filled with posts about fitness routines, healthy eating, and glamorous outings with friends. She even kept exotic pets, including three boa constrictors. In a post following the tragedy, she lamented, "What happened today was a great tragedy. Only God and my family know how my heart is." The ruling remains open for appeal.
