Jane Seymour Claims Sydney Sweeney Could Be the Next Bond Girl, Ignoring Controversial Ties

Jane Seymour, former Bond girl, throws her weight behind Sydney Sweeney as a potential addition to the iconic franchise. Seymour, who played Solitaire in 1973’s Live and Let Die, made her endorsement clear during a recent gala event.

At the 33rd Annual Race to Erase MS Gala in Los Angeles, Seymour was asked about Sweeney's fit for the Bond universe. “Oh, I am sure she would,” she declared, highlighting Sweeney's looks and talent.

Seymour described the Bond films as “not a mission” but rather “supposed to be fun.” She emphasized that the franchise should be a joyride, steering clear of any political correctness or life-changing narratives.

“It’s not supposed to be politically correct or life-changing,” Seymour stated, making it clear that entertainment is the priority. This comes amid discussions about Sweeney’s controversial political affiliations.

Seymour expressed her desire to return to the Bond franchise, hinting at a possible villain role in the upcoming reboot directed by Denis Villeneuve. “Oh yeah, I would do that,” she said, joking about taking inspiration from Dame Judi Dench’s portrayal of M.

Paul Feig, director of The Housemaid, also supports Sweeney’s involvement in the Bond series. He previously stated he would prefer Sweeney as the next Bond over traditional Bond girls. “Let her be the super spy…She is great,” he asserted.

Feig praised Sweeney as a “delight to work with” and noted her professionalism and intelligence. “I think she’d be a good spy,” he emphasized, reinforcing his belief in her capabilities.

Amazon MGM Studios recently announced their search for the next James Bond is officially underway. They plan to keep details under wraps during the casting process but promise updates for fans soon.

Denis Villeneuve will direct the next installment of the James Bond series.
