Jasmine Crockett Obliterates Trump's Venezuela Justification with Epstein Reference

During a heated congressional hearing on military actions against Venezuela, Rep. Jasmine Crockett (D-Texas) confronted President Donald Trump’s administration with pointed criticism.

Questioning the justification for the January capture of Venezuelan President Nicolás Maduro, she argued that mere allegations of wrongdoing do not provide a legitimate basis for the U.S. to invade another country and remove its leader.

Crockett urged her colleagues to reflect on how they would respond if a foreign nation applied the same rationale to the United States, invoking one of Trump’s most notorious controversies.

She highlighted the president's connections to convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, posing a provocative scenario: what if another country decided to “bomb America” based on an arrest warrant for Trump?

“I can guarantee that every single one of you that is sticking up for him right now would be screaming from the rooftops,” she asserted. “The analysis has to be the same.”

In her remarks, Crockett also accused Trump of attempting to remove Maduro to benefit wealthy donors eager to exploit Venezuela’s extensive oil resources.

“It was never about protecting Americans, it was never about bringing democracy to Venezuela, it was never about stopping illicit drugs from entering the country,” she stated emphatically. “Like everything else this administration does, it was about corruption.”
