JD Vance Gloats About His Vice Presidential Perks While Americans Struggle

Jul 11 2026

JD Vance flaunts his "totally transformed" existence as Vice President, where he no longer shops for groceries, cooks, or waits in TSA lines.

His new role comes with a dedicated military and government staff that manages his daily chores, allowing him to sidestep the mundane tasks of everyday life.

While he admits he misses the joy of baking, he revels in the fact that lengthy TSA security lines are now behind him and his family.

"Like my life is, dude, totally transformed," Vance declared on The Way I Heard It with Mike Rowe.

He elaborated, "I don’t go to the grocery store anymore; people go to the grocery store for me. Most of my meals, like when I cook a meal, it’s like, I love to cook actually."

Vance expressed that he appreciates the luxuries of his position, stating, "I’m a big baker. I like to cook for my kids as a special occasion, but I don’t have to cook anymore because I’ve got an army of people who are willing to like cook me my food. My life is so weird."

He boasted about flying on Air Force Two, saying, "No more TSA lines for me and the kids. It’s so weird, but it can become the sort of thing that if you internalize it, you start to be an entitled arsehole."

His remarks sparked backlash on social media after a clip from the podcast circulated on X/Twitter. Users questioned his need to highlight the perks of his job while criticizing the Trump administration.

One user remarked, "And is this supposed to be a flex? Or is he trying to be relatable? Because neither is working."

Another user criticized him for boasting about his privileges while working Americans struggle to pay bills and put food on their tables due to the administration's failures.

On Wednesday, Vance appeared at the Wisconsin Air National Guard facility at Milwaukee Mitchell International Airport, attempting humor with the crowd.

In a cringe-worthy moment, he said, "It would be so nice to have a governor in this incredible state... One of the most beautiful states in the union, especially at this time of the year. I love Wisconsin or as you guys say 'Wisconsin, love Wisconsin'."

His attempt at imitating the Wisconsin accent fell flat, drawing only a few scattered laughs before he quickly moved on.
