Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein's Secret Romance: From Sparks to Silence

Jennifer Lopez and Brett Goldstein went from sizzling chemistry to a mere friendship, leaving fans buzzing about their brief romance.

Sources reveal that while filming the Netflix movie “Office Romance,” Lopez and Goldstein maintained professionalism, but their connection was palpable. An insider stated, “They tried to keep things low-key during the months while filming but flirted here and there on set, and they definitely had a strong connection.”

At the wrap party, their cozy interactions were hard to miss. “Everyone saw them getting very cozy together,” the source added, hinting at the undeniable attraction between the two stars.

In early 2025, Lopez and Goldstein were spotted enjoying a night out at the Broadway play Oh, Mary! in New York City. Once filming concluded, they took their relationship to the next level and dated for a significant period.

However, the romance eventually lost steam. “They liked spending time together and Brett made her happy,” the insider explained. “But things just sort of fizzled out between them since last year.”

Despite the end of their romantic involvement, there’s no animosity. The source emphasized that they remain on good terms. “There’s no bad blood but it just kind of came to a lull,” they said. “They have a good friendship but in terms of romantic chemistry, that ship has sort of sailed.”

The “Hustlers” star and the “Ted Lasso” alum shared a strong physical attraction, but ultimately decided they were better off as friends. “Nothing major happened,” the insider noted.

The announcement of the Netflix romantic comedy surfaced in September 2024, with Goldstein set to star alongside Lopez. Fans quickly recalled Goldstein’s long-standing crush on Lopez, which he openly discussed on his podcast “Films to Buried With.”

In a July 2018 episode, he gushed over Lopez’s appearance in “The Hustlers,” exclaiming, “F–king hell. 50! She’s 50. I love her.”

Goldstein expressed jealousy over one of Lopez’s co-stars during a scene where she donned a fur coat while hugging her. “I’ve never wanted to be cuddled more,” he remarked. “That is one of the best cuddles. … give me one of your special cuddles.”

In an awkward moment during a live TV appearance on Tuesday's Today Show, Lopez dismissed romance rumors with Goldstein. Host Savannah Guthrie pressed them about their offscreen chemistry, but Lopez deflected, stating, “There’s never a time when I’m seen with somebody or working with somebody where they don’t try to put me with the person.”

Guthrie wasn’t satisfied with their evasive responses, telling Lopez that she circled around the question. “OK, but I’ll just say, because I’m me and you know me, that was not an answer,” she said.
