Jill Biden Places $35K Bid for Cameo in Heated Rivalry, But Loses to Higher Offers
Dr. Jill Biden, the former first lady, made headlines when she placed a $35,000 bid at a charity auction for a cameo role in the acclaimed ice hockey series Heated Rivalry. However, her aspirations were dashed as two anonymous bidders surpassed her with offers of $125,000 each, according to reports.
The bidding took place during the NYC LGBT Community Center’s Center Dinner, where Dr. Biden aimed not only for the walk-on role but also for a dinner with the cast. Despite her enthusiasm, the competition proved fierce.
Following the auction, Dr. Biden took to X (formerly Twitter) to express her disappointment: “Guess I won’t be heading to the cottage after all – but it was worth a shot! What a wonderful evening supporting LGBTCenterNYC.”
Heated Rivalry, inspired by Rachel Reid's Game Changers novels, features Hudson Williams and Connor Storrie as two gay ice hockey players navigating their careers and a secret relationship while playing for rival teams. The show is directed by Jacob Tierney and available on the Canadian streaming platform Crave.
At the gala event, Tierney and his producing partner Brendan Brady were honored with the Cultural Impact Award. Dr. Carla Smith, CEO of the center, commended their work for “elevating and centering queer characters as fully realized leads whose desires, conflicts, and tenderness are treated with dignity.”

Adding to the family’s headlines, Hunter Biden has made waves by challenging Donald Trump Jr. and Eric Trump to a cage fight while accusing them of profiting from their father's presidency. “Their hypocrisy knows no bounds,” he remarked. “It’s almost too much to keep up with, every single day… I will be surprised when they leave the White House if they have not taken the copper pipes out of the walls.”
