Julia Louis-Dreyfus Roasts Colbert with Hilarious NSFW ‘Veep’ Tribute and Trump Zinger

May 14 2026

Julia Louis-Dreyfus resurrected her iconic “Veep” persona, Selina Meyer, on Tuesday night, unleashing a wickedly funny tribute to Stephen Colbert as he gears up for his final episodes of “The Late Show.”

Promoting her latest flick, “The Sheep Detectives,” she kicked things off by acknowledging the parade of guests showering Colbert with praise and gifts ahead of his May 21 send-off.

“You know how much I love you. I really do. I wanted to sort of add to the chorus to sort of boost you along whatever brilliant thing you do next,” she said, before dropping a bombshell that had Colbert’s jaw on the floor: she enlisted some of the “Veep” writers to craft lines in character as Meyer.

What ensued was a riotous roast that had the audience in stitches.

In full Meyer mode, Louis-Dreyfus took aim at Colbert’s appearance, the tricky pronunciation of his last name, and his impending irrelevance. She even poked fun at his obsession with “The Lord of the Rings” and the “corporate jizz guzzler” behind the show’s cancellation.

Then came the Trump-themed jab: “Your cancellation gave Donald Trump so much pleasure, I always think of you as the Stormy Daniels of late night.”

Colbert couldn’t contain himself when she quipped about hoping for a more “hospice-type situation” when her team suggested she come to bid him farewell.

She didn’t hold back, adding, “I don’t want you to worry. The only reason everyone rallied around Jimmy Kimmel is because he is more popular.”

The grand finale? A line so NSFW it left everyone in disbelief.
