Jul 16 2026

Mason Haynes, a prominent bodyguard known for his work with the Kardashians, has died at 52. His family reported that he was involved in a tragic road traffic accident on July 4.

Just two days before his 53rd birthday, Haynes' death shocked many. A GoFundMe campaign launched by his family revealed the devastating news.

Haynes leaves behind his wife Fay, daughter Brooke, and son Noah. The family expressed that he had an extraordinary impact on countless lives, with “hundreds of messages” flooding in from those he touched.

Described as a protector, mentor, and prankster, Haynes was characterized as “a giant in every sense of the word” with a heart to match. Friends noted that he made people feel welcome instantly and would travel across countries to assist those in need.

A friend remarked that “the world has been robbed of that rare thing… a genuinely good man,” while another highlighted his “greatest gift was his humanity.”

The GoFundMe account aims to cover expenses for a proper send-off and to alleviate the financial burden on his family following this sudden loss.

Trojan Security UK, Haynes' employer, paid tribute on Instagram, sharing a photo of him towering over Kris Jenner during an outing. They captioned it, “RIP Big Mason,” and honored him as an “absolute legend in the Close Protection game.”

Haynes worked closely with high-profile clients including Kim Kardashian, Kris Jenner, and Kanye West. He was also part of the security team during Kim's infamous robbery at gunpoint in Paris in 2016.

In a 2018 interview, he referred to the robbery as “a set of unfortunate circumstances which led to something bad happening,” but could not disclose further details.

His client list also included A-listers like Charlie Puth, Nicki Minaj, and Kevin Hart. Despite his high-profile connections, Haynes maintained professionalism on the job.

In a 2020 interview, he emphasized the importance of keeping boundaries clear. “Many bodyguards make the mistake of thinking that they’re friends with their clients,” he stated. “As soon as you blur the line between professionalism and friendship, I think you’re in serious trouble.”
