Kid Rock's Disturbing SNL Joke About 14-Year-Old Olsen Twins Resurfaces, Sparks Outrage

Kid Rock's resurfaced joke about "underage girls" on Saturday Night Live has ignited a firestorm of outrage, branding him a "disgusting human being." The 55-year-old MAGA supporter is under intense scrutiny after a clip from his 2001 appearance on Weekend Update went viral.

In the controversial segment, Kid Rock, then 30 and already a father, made a lewd remark about Mary-Kate and Ashley Olsen, who were just 14 years old at the time. He quipped, "Why is every guy in America waiting for these chicks to turn 18? I mean, you know what I’m saying? If there’s grass on the field, play ball!"

The Democratic Party seized the moment, posting an image of Kid Rock, whose birth name is Robert James Ritchie, alongside the transcript of his joke with the caption, "The face of the MAGA Halftime Show."

Social media erupted with disgust. One user on X exclaimed, "SO gross!" while another stated, "He is a disgusting human being. It’s no wonder the MAGA base loves him." A third user sarcastically remarked, "Shocking. So out of character. Well, he fits in nicely with the rest of them."

This isn't Kid Rock's first controversy. He has faced accusations of brandishing a firearm at a journalist and using racial slurs. In May 2024, David Peisner claimed that during an interview at Kid Rock's home, the singer became "drunk and belligerent," even pulling out a firearm from behind his seat.

Following the uproar over his SNL comments, Kid Rock defiantly repeated the same slur in response to critics. His recent track titled "Cool, Daddy, Cool" has also drawn ire for its lyrics that reference underage girls. The song includes the lines, "Young ladies, young ladies, I like 'em underage, see / Some say that’s statutory (But I say it’s mandatory)."

In an attempt to address the backlash from the resurfaced track, Kid Rock took to Instagram to share a quote from Kobe Bryant: "Learn to love the hate. Embrace it. Enjoy it. You earned it." He added, "Everyone is entitled to their own opinion, and everyone should have one about you. Haters are a good problem to have. Nobody hates the good ones. They hate the great ones."
