‘Lilo & Stitch’ Star Daveigh Chase Dies of AIDS Amid Drug Struggles
Daveigh Chase, known for voicing Lilo in “Lilo & Stitch” and starring as Samara in “The Ring,” has died of AIDS, confirmed by the Los Angeles County medical examiner's report.
The report highlighted “chronic polysubstance use” as a significant condition contributing to her death, indicating the use of multiple drugs over a short period.
The medical examiner classified the death as “natural.”
Chase passed away in an L.A. hospital earlier this month at 35 years old.

She gained fame as a child actor, lending her voice not only to Lilo but also to Chihiro in the English dub of “Spirited Away,” an Oscar-winning animated film revered as one of the greatest.
Her performance in “The Ring” earned her a “best villain” award at the MTV Movie & TV Awards in 2003.
Chase also appeared in the HBO series “Big Love,” among other roles.
However, she had not been on screen for a decade due to struggles with drug addiction and homelessness, as reported by her father, John David Schwallier.
Schwallier revealed that she was also fighting bacterial meningitis and a blood infection at the time of her death.
