‘Love Island USA’ Star Melanie Moreno’s Family Rips Into Ozempic Rumors Amid Old Modeling Clips Resurfacing

“Love Island USA” star Melanie Moreno’s family is on the offensive, slamming accusations of Ozempic use after old plus-sized modeling videos surfaced online.

“Melanie is my little cousin and I can tell you it is her!! And no Ozempic,” her cousin declared on social media, directly countering the swirling rumors.

“She worked hard to get her current body!!! She wasn’t insecure when she was plus-size[d], and she’s not insecure now,” the cousin added, emphasizing Moreno's dedication to her transformation.

Moreno’s cousin continued, “People are allowed to change, grow, and become healthier without having to justify it.”

“Her confidence didn’t come from her size, it came from knowing her worth. Support women at every stage, not just the versions you’re comfortable with,” the cousin stated, pushing back against critics.

Steph Moreno, Melanie’s sister, also jumped into the fray, identifying herself in a separate post: “Mel’s sister here.”

“Melanie has always had very high self-esteem, even when she was plus-size,” she asserted in an Instagram video, reinforcing the family’s stance.

The family rushed to defend Melanie as social media critics alleged she used Ozempic while filming Season 8 of “Love Island” in Fiji, where she currently lacks cell phone access.

Supporters rallied around Melanie, with one TikTok user commenting, “So yall (sic) hate a women for losing weight? Yall can say what you want but she worked hard for her body.”

Another fan chimed in, “Damn this made me like her more,” while yet another added, “still tea.”

Fans dug up a video of Melanie strutting in a cut-out pink swimsuit during the Pretty Little Thing runway show at the 2022 Miami Swim Week, showcasing her modeling prowess.

In a 2021 interview with VoyageLA, Melanie opened up about her aspirations to become a model, revealing she dropped out of college to chase her dreams.

“I saw everyone heading to college and knew that was exactly what my parents wanted for me,” she recounted. “And even though college wasn’t my number one plan, I still decided to go.”

“I loved being in college; I just knew it wasn’t meant for me and I wanted to give my dream a chance,” she explained, expressing her desire to avoid future regrets.

Melanie cited her stepdad’s passing as a pivotal moment that propelled her toward her goals during her “darkest time,” which included launching her MORE SPORT STUDIO business aimed at raising “awareness to mental health through fashion.”

“I was then scouted by my now manager Elizabeth. My biggest dream since I was 10 years old was to be a model,” she revealed.

“The main reason I gave up on my dream was because I had this belief that I had to look perfect to even get into the business. I thought I needed a specific look or a specific body type. Little did I know I was wrong.”
