Megyn Kelly Calls Out MAGA Figures She Claims 'Influenced' Trump to Engage in War: 'They Must Face Consequences'
Former Fox News anchor Megyn Kelly has taken a strong stance against several high-profile supporters of President Donald Trump, accusing them of pressuring him into military action in Iran. “Let’s stop pretending this is solely President Trump’s decision,” she asserted during her show on Friday. “Someone convinced him to take this path, and those individuals need to be held accountable.”
Kelly's remarks come amid a backdrop of increasing dissent among some conservative commentators regarding the war. “As the situation deteriorates, it’s crucial to identify who influenced his decision and what assurances were given to persuade him that this was a wise course of action. Who are these people?” she demanded.
Among those she criticized were Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Senator Lindsey Graham (R-S.C.), whom she labeled as “equally responsible” for pushing Trump toward conflict. “Their roles in this are undeniable,” Kelly stated, emphasizing the need for transparency.
She referenced a report from the Wall Street Journal, highlighting that Marc Thiessen of Fox News and General Jack Keane were significant proponents of the war. “These individuals seemed to have misjudged the situation entirely,” Kelly remarked, suggesting that their advocacy was misguided.
Continuing her critique, Kelly pointed out Fox News host Mark Levin, asserting, “We know he was a strong advocate for this decision.” This statement comes despite Levin’s recent claims on his radio show that he “never lobbied the president.”
Additionally, conservative podcaster Ben Shapiro was mentioned by Kelly, who accused him of promoting the war on his platform daily. “There were influential voices on the right who were almost zealously supporting this initiative,” she noted.
“Now that the situation is not only deteriorating but also affecting the president’s approval ratings significantly, we are calling for accountability. Who guaranteed him what?” Kelly concluded, pressing for clarity on the motivations behind the push for war.
