Melania Trump is taking heat online after boldly declaring herself a “visionary” during a recent speech.
“As a visionary, I know success is not born overnight. Often alone at the top, I follow my passion, listen to my instinct, and always maintain a laser focus,” she proclaimed at a Women’s History Month event at the White House on March 12.
She kicked off her speech by stating, “Across the country today, women are finding unique ways to balance career ambition and family.”
Then came the kicker: “We all know these incredible women. They dominate America’s workforce now more than ever before.”
Melania continued, “As a visionary, I know success is not born overnight, but rather takes shape after a long and sometimes challenging process.”
She elaborated, “Often alone at the top, I follow my passion, listen to my instinct, and always maintain a laser focus. In solitude, my creative mind dances, filling my imagination with originality. Attention to detail, demanding schedules, and multitasking are everyday realities when building towards success.”
While she waxed poetic about her “visionary” journey, social media users were quick to pounce on her self-proclaimed status.
One user on X quipped, “Her work could not have failed more. Be best, and her ‘husband’ is just threatening death and treason nonstop and just goes after dead people.”
Another chimed in with sarcasm, “Smart, bring up your movie that has a 1/10 rating. I’m actually mad she called herself a visionary.”
“I have dealt with members of the National Academies (science as well as engineering). Never ever heard any one of these distinguished scholars refer to themselves as ‘a visionary,’” another user pointed out.
“What success? What vision? Such a joke,” someone bluntly stated.
“When she said that, I burst out laughing. If you have to refer to yourself as a visionary, you’re probably not. Listen to your ‘instinct,’” another user added.
The 54-year-old First Lady hosted the gathering at the White House to honor Women’s History Month, welcoming accomplished working mothers and women leaders from various fields including business, athletics, law enforcement, government, and civil society.
Melania praised the “effective women” present for balancing “career ambition and family,” while also highlighting her own achievements, particularly her self-titled Amazon documentary.
