Melania Trump is a no-show on Air Force One as Donald Trump embarks on a two-day state visit to China, and the internet is buzzing with theories. The First Lady's absence is confirmed by a spokesperson who bluntly stated, “First Lady Melania Trump is not traveling this time.”
As the presidential entourage prepared for takeoff, a list of attendees was shared by News Nation White House Correspondent Libbey Dean. Among those boarding were President Trump, Eric Trump, Lara Trump, and several cabinet members, but no sign of Melania. Speculation ran wild on social media, with one user pointing out, “When it was announced Eric and Lara were going with Trump that was a clue Melania wasn’t going.”
Critics took to X to question the presence of non-administration figures like Walt Nauta and Lara Trump on the flight. “Why are Walt, Eric, and Lara boarding Air Force One? They aren’t in the administration in any form,” another user remarked, highlighting the unusual guest list.
Trump’s visit to Beijing marks his second trip to China as president and the first by any U.S. president since 2017. The agenda is packed with discussions on trade, Taiwan, and China’s relationship with Iran amid ongoing Middle Eastern tensions.
In stark contrast to this year’s trip, Melania accompanied Trump during his 2017 visit, where she was treated to lavish displays of Chinese hospitality. She participated in various cultural activities, including a visit to Banchang Primary School alongside Peng Liyuan, wife of Chinese President Xi Jinping. The former First Lady also attended a Peking opera and engaged in classes covering everything from cooking to calligraphy.
As tensions rise over Iran, Trump has stated that the current ceasefire deal is “on life support,” following China’s refusal to intervene in the conflict. Sixteen top American business leaders, including Elon Musk and Tim Cook, are set to join Trump on this trip, likely to discuss establishing a board of investment and trade with China.
Meanwhile, Melania’s absence raises eyebrows, especially after she broke protocol in a pink gown with a shocking detail during her last public appearance. What’s really going on behind the scenes? The mystery deepens as Air Force One soars without her.
