Obama Stays Silent as UFC Fighter Launches Vile Attack on Michelle

Disgraceful remarks made by UFC fighter Josh Hokit during a White House event have sparked outrage, yet Barack Obama has opted to ignore the controversy entirely.

At the UFC Freedom 250 event, Hokit made a baseless claim that Michelle Obama was a man, igniting a firestorm of public backlash. The event, held on the White House lawn, raised eyebrows as many questioned why such offensive rhetoric was allowed to take center stage.

In the wake of Hokit’s comments, both Obamas have chosen to respond with dignity. Michelle quickly announced a new initiative involving her and Barack, sidestepping the vitriol aimed at her.

On Monday, Barack Obama shared images from the Obama Presidential Center in Chicago, stating, “Chicago, it’s good to be home!” He emphasized the center as a place for community engagement, completely ignoring the UFC fighter's slur.

The official opening of the Obama Presidential Center is set for later this week, where the couple will unveil a portrait of themselves created by artist Akunyili Crosby. Michelle acknowledged Crosby in her social media post but made no mention of Hokit’s offensive remarks.

During the UFC event, reports indicated that Trump “appeared to show a half-smile” in response to Hokit’s comments about Michelle Obama.

When asked for a comment regarding the uproar, the White House declined to respond. CNN’s Jake Tapper reported that spokesman Steven Cheung praised Hokit’s performance instead, stating, “He had a great win last night. He showed toughness and the ability to pressure his opponent both on his feet and on the ground.”

This incident is not an isolated one; the Obamas have faced public attacks before. In February, Trump shared a video that depicted their faces overlaid onto images of apes.

Despite widespread outrage, Trump’s post was removed after backlash, but he refused to apologize when pressed about its racist implications. He claimed, “I didn’t make a mistake.”

While the White House has remained tight-lipped on this latest controversy, UFC CEO Dana White condemned Hokit’s remarks in a statement to Time magazine. He stated, “I understand that the Obamas are public figures, but I’m completely against saying nasty and false things about people’s families.”
