Rosie O'Donnell Unleashes Fury on 'Racist' MAGA Supporters After Hokit’s Insulting Michelle Obama Comment

Rosie O'Donnell unleashed a torrent of criticism aimed at Donald Trump and his supporters after UFC fighter Josh Hokit made a vile comment about Michelle Obama during the Freedom 250 event.

The UFC-backed spectacle unfolded on the White House lawn, coinciding with the nation’s 250th anniversary and the president’s 80th birthday. O'Donnell, 64, did not hold back, branding Trump and his MAGA base as 'racist and homophobic' after Hokit declared the former First Lady was "a man."

Just days prior, O'Donnell had already labeled Trump a 'conman' and a 'liar from day one' while attending the Tony Awards.

After clinching victory, 28-year-old Hokit took the microphone, praising Trump for hosting the event and then shockingly quipped, "And lastly, Michelle Obama is a man. Am I right, America?"

The following day, Rosie confronted the media in New York City, denouncing Trump’s birthday bash as "disgraceful and embarrassing," insisting he should feel shame for orchestrating such an event.

When pressed about Hokit’s derogatory remarks regarding the former First Lady, Rosie shot back, "Yes, and that’s exactly what Trump is, and that’s exactly what his fans are: racist, homophobic, unamerican."

O'Donnell has been embroiled in a bitter feud with Trump for two decades, even claiming he drove her to leave the country for Ireland in January 2025. Currently, she is reportedly spending her summer in New York City performing her solo stage show, Common Knowledge.

At the Tony Awards on June 7, she described Trump as "a narcissist" and "a psychopath," asserting, "If you grew up in New York, you knew he was an a-----e and a liar from day one."

Despite the uproar, the White House has yet to condemn Hokit’s remarks. UFC CEO Dana White did issue a statement to TIME, expressing disapproval of Hokit’s comments about the Obama family. He stated, "I understand that the Obamas are public figures, but I’m completely against saying nasty and false things about people’s families. Everyone knows my position on free speech, but I hate that kind of nonsense."

MAGA-aligned comedian Shane Gillis, present at the White House event, expressed his discontent with Hokit’s comment.

Congressman Christian D. Menefee took to X to voice his outrage: "They really let a UFC fighter call our only Black First Lady a man on the White House lawn at an official White House event … while thousands cheered and the biggest podcaster in the world smiled. There is no economic policy fix for this. Many of these people are just racist."
