Prince Andrew's New Life: From Royalty to Gaming Isolation

May 10 2026

Loneliness has become Andrew Windsor's new companion. The former prince, stripped of his royal titles in November 2025, now navigates life without the privilege of being called His Royal Highness.

For six long months, the ex-second-in-line to the throne faced a self-imposed exile, first at the Royal Lodge in Windsor and later downgraded to the less glamorous Marsh Farm on the Sandringham Estate in Norfolk.

Royal biographer Andrew Lownie, whose explosive book "Entitled" played a pivotal role in Andrew's downfall, paints a bleak picture of the once-privileged royal. "He’s lost any sort of purpose in life," Lownie claims, revealing that Andrew has retreated into the digital world of video games since stepping back from royal duties.

Speaking on the Palace Confidential podcast, Lownie noted Andrew's surprising tech-savviness compared to other royals. "He’s someone who needs a discipline," he said, lamenting the absence of structure in Andrew's life. "The services were good for him. There was a focus there and a discipline." Now, without that framework, Andrew spends his days lost in flight simulators and first-person shooters like Call of Duty.

But it’s not just gaming that’s marked his recent existence. On May 6, chaos erupted when a stranger confronted him while he walked his dogs on the Sandringham Estate. A Norfolk Police spokesperson confirmed that officers were dispatched after reports of intimidating behavior. A man was arrested on suspicion of public disorder and possession of an offensive weapon.

The assailant, identified as 39-year-old Alex Jenkinson, faces charges for using threatening language to harass Andrew. He’s been released on conditional bail with strict orders to stay away from Norfolk and avoid any contact with Mountbatten-Windsor.

Despite these incidents, Andrew remains largely out of the public eye, rarely seen beyond the confines of Sandringham. Occasionally spotted on horseback near Marsh Farm, his days of extravagant travel and royal engagements seem like a distant memory.

Once linked to notorious sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, Andrew has consistently denied any wrongdoing. Now, with his royal status stripped away and a modest income to boot, he’s left to grapple with a life that’s become a far cry from the opulence he once knew.

As he immerses himself in virtual worlds, one can’t help but wonder if this is truly how a prince should spend his days—lost in simulations while reality slips further away.
