RFK Jr. Sparks Outrage with Bizarre Teen Sperm Remarks
Robert F. Kennedy Jr. sent shockwaves through the internet after making an eyebrow-raising remark about teenage boys’ sperm during a White House event on Monday.
While promoting maternal healthcare and the Trump administration’s new moms.gov portal, he declared America is facing a “fertility crisis,” stating, “In 1970, men had twice the sperm count as our teenagers do today.”
“This is an existential crisis for our country,” he continued, linking the decline in male fertility to a “toxic soup” of environmental factors that young women are exposed to daily.
Questions arose about the credibility of his claims, especially since a 2022 review of male reproductive data indicated a significant decline in sperm counts from 1973 to 2018, urging immediate action to reverse this trend.
However, a more recent analysis published in “Fertility and Sterility” this January examined data from 1970 to 2023 and found “no clinically significant decline in sperm concentration among confirmed fertile men and the general male US population without known infertility.”
Neither study, though, focused specifically on adolescent statistics.
Despite the mixed data, Kennedy warned that falling birth rates pose a threat not just to the economy but also to national security and the sustainability of public welfare programs like Medicare and Social Security.
The environmental attorney-turned-politician seems particularly fixated on virility; he previously shared similar sperm statistics while comparing teens’ testosterone levels to those of 68-year-old men during a Fox News appearance last April.
He revisited the topic in October during an Oval Office press conference discussing the Trump administration’s plans to enhance access to in vitro fertilization.
Kennedy’s controversial comments overshadowed what was meant to be the event’s main announcement: a proposed rule allowing employers to provide standalone insurance coverage for fertility treatments.
Online reactions ranged from disbelief to outright mockery, with many questioning whether his remarks were bizarre, perverted, or simply a distraction from health and environmental regulations being rolled back under Trump’s administration.
Here are some of the most outrageous social media reactions. Caution: Some language may be explicit.
“Bruh, why is @SecKennedy in the lab counting j*zz when the hantavirus is on the loose??”
