Rod Stewart Struggles for Breath on Stage, Oxygen Tank Emergency Shocks Fans
Rod Stewart, the rock legend, gasped for air during a performance, needing an oxygen tank to keep going. The incident unfolded in Utah, where he struggled through his 1981 hit “Young Turks.”
At 81 years old, Stewart leaned heavily on the keyboard and drum screen, visibly battling to maintain his composure. Despite the struggle, he continued singing and even attempted to dance.
After a few deep breaths from the oxygen tank, he exclaimed, “I nearly fucking fainted up there.” His assistant rushed to provide the tank as the audience watched in concern.
Stewart admitted that his dance moves exacerbated the situation. “Would you mind if I sat down for this one?” he asked before lowering himself onto the stage’s steps.
Eventually, a chair was brought out for him. Despite the scare, he completed the show with seven additional songs, according to Setlist.fm.

The concert took place in West Valley City, located at an elevation of 4,300 feet, which likely contributed to his breathing difficulties.
Just two nights later, he performed in Rancho Mirage, California, without any reported issues. However, he has been battling illness recently, canceling several shows due to an acute upper respiratory infection and laryngitis.
Fans were left puzzled when he appeared at a World Cup game in Boston shortly after canceling a California show. In a video from a private jet, he boasted, “I’ve been to seven World Cups,” before singing “No Scotland, No Party.”
