Sabrina Carpenter Secures 5-Year Restraining Order Against Delusional Intruder

Jun 18 2026

Sabrina Carpenter has successfully obtained a five-year restraining order against a man who allegedly made multiple attempts to breach her home.

William Applegate, 31, must now maintain a distance of at least 100 yards from Carpenter, her sister, and her sister’s partner, who live with her. He is also prohibited from possessing firearms and communicating with Carpenter, as reported.

In a bizarre court appearance without legal representation, Applegate claimed he and Carpenter needed to unite immediately due to their involvement in a classified military program focused on “national and global security.”

Although Carpenter was prepared to testify remotely, the 27-year-old pop star was ultimately not called to the stand.

Reports indicate that Applegate attempted to enter Carpenter's Los Angeles residence over a dozen times.

In her petition, Carpenter stated that Applegate was arrested after assaulting a security guard while reaching her front door last month. He returned just days later.

A temporary restraining order was granted on May 29.

Applegate acknowledged being at Carpenter's home, asserting that the “Espresso” singer wanted him there and that her team and law enforcement were conspiring against him.

He claimed he would gladly avoid the Grammy winner if she directly instructed him to do so. However, he also alleged in a counter-petition that Carpenter had attempted to communicate with him by making eye contact during her Coachella performance in April.

Attorney Blair Berk, representing Carpenter, informed Judge David L. Wasserman that Carpenter fears for her safety and that of her family due to Applegate's actions.

Judge Wasserman addressed Applegate, stating, “I understand that it’s your belief that in order to save the world, you and the petitioner must be together,” and stressed the importance of obeying the restraining order rather than following his own misguided beliefs.

No criminal charges have been filed against Applegate as of now, but a criminal investigation is ongoing.

Page Six has reached out to representatives for Carpenter. A representative for Applegate was not available for comment on Wednesday evening.
