Sisters' Night Out Turns Into Nightmare: Fake Uber Driver Rapes One After She Falls Asleep

Jun 06 2026

A man posing as an Uber driver turned a late-night ride into a nightmare, resulting in the rape of one sister while the other was left helpless. San Francisco prosecutors revealed the shocking details of the incident involving Yucel Eryilmaz, 44, who picked up the victims in October 2025.

The sisters mistakenly entered Eryilmaz's vehicle, believing it was their Uber. After driving them from a club in the Mission District, Eryilmaz made unwanted advances toward the sister in the front seat. She rebuffed him, but once they reached their destination, he sped off with the other sister still inside.

Desperate for help, the sister called 9-1-1 but had no way to track Eryilmaz or locate her sibling, who was without her phone. Video evidence later surfaced, showing Eryilmaz pulling into his apartment complex and moving to the back seat with the victim, locking the doors behind him.

Hours later, the victim awoke to find Eryilmaz on top of her. She protested, saying “no,” as he restrained her and assaulted her. After enduring this ordeal, she managed to escape and spent ten minutes with Eryilmaz before he reluctantly allowed her to use his phone to contact her sister.

During the call, she learned that police were searching for her and that her sister was not close by. Seizing the moment, she fled from Eryilmaz’s apartment and called her sister again for assistance.

The San Francisco District Attorney’s office acknowledged the efforts of victim advocates and praised the dedication of officers from the Special Victims Unit who investigated this case.

A jury found Eryilmaz guilty of two felonies: rape of an unconscious person and assault with intent to commit rape. The verdict holds him accountable for his heinous actions.

San Francisco District Attorney Brooke Jenkins expressed gratitude to the survivor for her bravery in coming forward and navigating the challenging court process. Assistant District Attorney Abigail Adams commended the victim for her courage and authenticity during her testimony.

Eryilmaz remains in custody, awaiting sentencing on June 18. He faces a potential prison term exceeding a decade for his crimes.
