Steve Bannon Rages Over Virginia Redistricting: ‘We’re Losing Power!’
MAGA figure Steve Bannon unleashed a tirade against Virginia’s recent redistricting, which he claims favors Democrats, declaring, “We’re losing power!” His frustration highlights a growing concern among conservatives about the upcoming midterm elections.
On Tuesday, voters in Virginia approved a new electoral map that could potentially grant Democrats up to four additional seats in the House of Representatives. This shift has sparked alarm within Republican circles.
The gerrymandering saga began last year when former President Donald Trump urged Texas to redraw its electoral boundaries to benefit Republicans. In response, states like California initiated their own redistricting efforts, creating a back-and-forth that has left many political analysts questioning the long-term implications.
During a recent episode of his show War Room on Real America’s Voice, Bannon insisted that the MAGA movement remains vibrant, despite acknowledging some discontent with current administration policies. “Things are not perfect,” he admitted, yet he urged supporters to disregard negative commentary from pundits.
In a lengthy monologue, Bannon criticized what he termed “consultant lobbyist crap,” arguing that it fails to address the core issues that motivate voters to support Republican candidates. He expressed frustration over the reluctance to embrace Trump’s influence in campaigning.

“We had something that was so winnable,” Bannon lamented, referencing the potential for Republican success in Virginia. He accused consultants of advising against mentioning Trump for fear of alienating Democrats, exclaiming, “Are you kidding me?! Do you not know where the country is right now?”
Bannon further claimed that Virginia’s Democratic governor, Abigail Spanberger, is orchestrating a “color revolution,” alleging ties to the CIA. His comments reflect a broader narrative among some conservatives who view political opposition as part of a larger conspiracy.
Diving deeper into the redistricting issue, Bannon asserted that it would allow Democrats to gain traction in rural areas of Virginia. He described the situation as an infiltration by “foreign-born deep state folks” who he believes are manipulating the political landscape.
He criticized conventional politicians like Glenn Youngkin, who lost to Spanberger, for their inability to secure victories. “Now it’s a crushing defeat; they’ve turned over the whole state,” Bannon stated, predicting a long recovery process for Republicans.
Bannon expressed disdain for what he perceives as a corrupt consulting class, claiming they are robbing resources from genuine grassroots efforts. He warned that without substantial changes, Republicans are destined to lose the Senate in November.

“You’re damn right you’re going to lose the Senate because you’ve given nothing for people to work for!” he exclaimed, targeting prominent figures like John Cornyn and Lindsey Graham.
As the conversation shifted, guest Raheem Kassam suggested that Trump should share some responsibility for the situation in Virginia. Bannon defended Trump, stating, “He’s fighting wars, trying to bring world peace... The whole weight of the world’s on his shoulders.”
He concluded by emphasizing Trump’s ability to rally support but cautioned listeners: “Right now, folks, take your number two pencil and write this down: We ain’t going to be in power!”
